It is what it is....

This post could be titled many things....The Meltdown of 2008, I am Queen or I'm seeing the light!

My oh my what a week we've had. To begin with, this is year end close for MSW. As in the monster of all monster weeks. I have become so spoiled with having him home. 3 years ago he traveled for work every couple months and I was independent and fine back then. Now...oh that is a different story. I have not spent an evening without him in 3+ years and I have become just a little reliant upon him. So, this past week he worked long, late hours. He worked 20 hours on Tuesday alone. He came home each night if you want to call a couple hours of sleep being home. He worked both days over the weekend too. I missed him terribly, doodle missed him terribly- I thank God he does not travel and this time only comes once a year. My hats off to single mamas (and dads) out there! You rock and deserve an applause!

On top of that last week was my last week of the 4 week training. This was undeniably the most work intensive thing I have ever done. The work load, the brain power needed....the substantial post requirements!! I did it though! The attrition rate is high in the program- I know why- it brought grown men to their knees- I know why. I wanted to quit. I did not! I hung in there and today, oh today I am a queen! Not only did I finish this training- I did it while playing single mom! I'm pretty proud of myself :)

So are you getting the picture last week was busy to say the least! It was no hayride for doodle. He did get shelved in this craziness and one day I did not pick him up until dark and that is the first and last time I will let that happen! It all came to a head on Saturday at his last soccer game. After not seeing daddy all week MSW showed up at the soccer game to coach. I did not consider how difficult this would be on doodle. Here is daddy who has been uber busy all week and he is going to share his attention with 7 other kiddos too! The child had the meltdown of his life right there on the sideline. Oh it was one of our shinning moments! Not the note we wanted to end the season on but oh well...it is what it is.

And what do you need most after a week like this? A mama to the rescue! My mom came and spent the day with us. She helped me to do our grocery shopping, unload the car, ensured I had 3-5 gallons of water and took us to lunch. It was exactly what we needed- to be taken care of of. Thanks mom!

And now, it is a new week...one that we will embrace with a fresh new look (and alot less work!)
