Fiesta Texas- Holiday Style

We promised doodle a Fiesta Texas trip during the holidays. The park does not open until 4pm so we were a little worried about having sissy belle out in the night air, etc... We got lucky and there was one evening that was in the upper 60's. We had a great evening! Doodle and I went sledding, we ate some park food and went on some rides. As always, sissy was perfect! Poor baby girl had a rough day- she had her 2 month old check-up earlier in the day but was the total trooper! (I'll save the water in the face story for another time....)

~Sibling Love~

These are not the best quality pictures but they are some of my most favorite! Why? Because it shows just how much my two littles love each other. Sissy belle loves to watch big brother and doodle is such a great big brother. Though he is a busy boy, he stops long enough each day to give her some attention! I am so glad they have each other.

Santa Party

We are so lucky to have such great friends who host fabulous parties! The Zunker's Santa Party each year is wonderful! Santa visits, good food, great company and so much fun for the adults and kids! We have been known to close the party down before but with a newborn we left at a decent hour this year :) The Santa was awesome- so good that it saved me a trip to the mall santa for pics (thanks, Amy!) Doodle still believes in Santa and was so excited to get to see him.

School Holiday Party

As room mom, one of my responsibilites is to host all the class parties with the help of a couple other moms. We had so much fun planning everything for the party and surprise the kids with a decorated classroom. The kids had so much fun and then we sent them home with tons of sugar!!

A list...for me.

Consider this more a list for me to remember what to blog about rather than a true post....

With over a 1000 pictures waiting to be downloaded, the process will take much more time than I have at this moment so pictures will have to come later on. With several events behind us and many more ahead of us, "It's the most wonderful time of the year!"

Doodle's school party was so much fun! I was in charge of the art project for the party so we made snoman ornaments with their faces in them. Cute, fun and easy for them. Tons of pics and will get to those later. Momene stayed with sissy so that I could focus on doodle and his party. Doodle ended up going home with his friend for a little while so I had time to clean up the classroom, get home to let momene get on the road and start getting clothes ready for the santa party that night. It is so fun that doodle is now old enough to go over to his friends' homes and we have them over. He loves it and gives him some boy time. I love his school and the friends that we have made and that I have moms who say, "hey, I'll take doodle home so you can get "whatever" done, swing by the house later on and pick him up!"

On a related note, since he is growing up I wondered if it was time to try and teach him to ride a bike without training wheels. MSW took them off of his little bike to see how he could do. Literally, within 5 minutes, the kid has totally mastered it. In fact, we walked, he rode up to the school and back yesterday afternoon...without training wheels.

As I am typing this, doodle is on my bed holding sissy and it is adorable....just snapped the picture so now I have 1001 to download! She is just beaming at him and he is ever so sweet talking to her.

Ooops! and my time is up....doodle has a dentist appointment we need to get to. **Note to self** 2 month old post!

Christmas Card Shoot 09

I usually have our Christmas cards done by Thanksgiving or shortly after. I am just not on the ball this year. I love to make our cards....I like designing them, buying the supplies, doing the picture, etc... I guess I got my fill after doing sissy belle's birth announcement and sip-n-see invite. Needless to say, our cards went out much, much later than usual. It is done...they are in the mail. The weather has been so yuck lately that I have not had the chance to get our picture done. When we finally had a day that it was not raining and freezing the sun was blaring which is not easy on a newborn's eyes (or ours for that matter.) So, thanks to Crystal and Val we were able to finally get a picture that I could use. I caved and did the picture card thing. I even allowed them to be printed at the HEB one hour photo lab...gasp! I know..the HP printer (insert roll of the eyes)! However, they are sent and had I not gone with this plan then cards would have not been sent and that thought just made me sad. So, it is what it is my friends!

On a related note, I went to the post office yesterday to buy enough stamps from the automated machine to get the cards in the mail. With both kids in tow, a huge box of cards and a line that extended out the door. Should have watched the news at lunch (yet I was at the dentist) to know this is the busiest day of the year for the post office- score! MSW always says the government should hire me to scout out the most populated businesses because I always end up in the mass of crowds! I digress, so we wait in line for more than 30 minutes. At this point, the bottle that I brought for our "quick trip" is empty and doodle is growing frustrated with the wait. The lady in front of us was clearly struggling with the machine...weighing each individual envelope (they were all the same.) Finally it was our turn I walk up to a screen that says, "How can I help you?" And then gives a list of services. I hit the "Buy Stamps" like usual. Me and this machine go way back! Anyways, the lady before me must have pushed "continue to buy more" rather than "I am done." Because without inserting my card 5 books of stamps shot out of the machine. Great! I just ripped off the machine-rookie lady. I exit out for real this time for her. Turn the stroller around, grab doodle's hand and we run off into the fog (what was up with that yesterday) after the lady. I finally catch up to her, explain what happened and offered her the books of stamps (that she paid for :)) or a check for the amount because after all that time in line I really wanted the stamps. She took the check. I felt like I had really solved the problem and we all got what we wanted. We stamped our envelopes and sent off our Christmas wishes. Relief...until MSW got home and heard the story who proceeds with a scenario of how the woman is going to fraudulent (can I make that a verb, I like it as a verb too) our checks and rob us blind. But, she didn't even know how to work the machine and then I proceeded to worry all night long :) Lovely!
